Prom Is Almost Here!

Hello Blackshirts, prom is right around the corner. Are you ready? Prom details were released and are available to read on the Waukesha South homepage thanks to our prom advisor, Mrs. Gildersleeve.

South’s prom is Saturday, April 21st at the Milwaukee Marriott West with the theme being The Great Gatsby. The check-in will be from 6:40 PM - 7:00 PM. Then, dinner will be served from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM and the event will end at 11:00 PM. Beforehand, in the Waukesha South auditorium from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, the Grand March will take place.

The price for a single ticket is $60 or $120 for a couple. This price not only includes admission, but a catered dinner, photo booth, and a gift as well. Tickets will be sold in the athletic/activities office until Friday, April 13th. However, guest passes are due Monday, April 9th; these deadlines are tight, so don’t forget! Students must fill out a conduct form or guest pass before purchasing their tickets. These forms are available on Waukesha South’s homepage.

Prom attire is formal, with women in floor-length dresses and men in suits or tuxes. At prom, there is a check in for coats or personal belongings but not shoes. The staff will monitor this area so that all belongings are protected, but know that the school is not responsible for them.

It's crucial to stay classy Blackshirts, because all school rules will apply at the dance. At the entrance, students will randomly be asked to take a breathalyzer test as well. Red bracelets will be given upon arrival, and as a first warning, chaperones have the right to cut the bracelet when they see inappropriate behavior. If the student is addressed a second time, they will be asked to leave the dance.

All of these rules seem like a lot, but they were created to help the evening go smoothly according to plan. Don’t forget, prom is supposed to be a night to remember, so just follow the rules and have fun!
